General Information
When did you open?
We started selling cupcakes in 2006 and the doors to our shop opened on 5th November 2008.
Where's the shop?
The Lancaster shop is tucked away up an alleyway called Slip Inn Lane in central Lancaster. We are behind BHS, Fibber McGees and are part of the Marketgate Shopping Centre.
What days are you open?
Our Lancaster shop is open Monday - Saturday (10am-5pm) except bank holidays and at Christmas. We are closed on Sundays.
Can I reserve a table?
No. Our seating area is first come first served.
Is Yummy Cupcake Company a franchise?
No. Yummy Cupcake Company is not a franchise. It is the brainchild of brother and sister team James and Jennifer Coatesworth who set up the business in 2006.
Where are your cupcakes baked?
All our cakes are baked upstairs in our Lancaster shop.
What's your most popular cupcake?
It seems to change with the seasons but our Vanilla, Double Chocolate and Mars Millionaire cupcakes are consistent sellers.
Do you hire cake stands?
We sell a huge range of cake stands and hire them out with orders of more than 100 cupcakes. Please ask to speak to one of our cake designers for more details.
I want to work at Yummy Cupcake Company – how do I apply?
We are constantly looking to add enthusiastic and passionate people to our team. Please send us a copy of your CV telling us why you want to work for us and what you feel you can offer.
Ordering and Payment
How far in advance do I need to place my order?
Fridays and Saturdays are our busiest days. We recommend that orders for these days be placed at least a week in advance to avoid disappointment. For orders that require set up at your venue please order as far in advance as possible. We are currently taking orders for 2012 and 2013.
Online orders can be placed no later than 2 days before the order is required. If you require something sooner, please call on 01524 380421 and we'll see what we can do.
When do I need to pay for my order?
Orders booked less than 14 days in advance must be paid for in full at the time of booking. A non returnable deposit of 50% or £50 (whichever is less) is payable at the time of booking for orders booked more than 14 days in advance. Online orders must be paid for in full when placing your order.
I need to cancel my order- how do I do this?
If you wish to cancel your order for any reason, you must notify us on 01524 380421 before 12 noon the day before your order was due to be collected. Any refunds on your deposit are at the Manager's discretion.
Is there a discount for large orders?
No.

Where can you deliver to?
At present we deliver our products in North Lancashire and South Cumbria. Postcodes and pricing are below:

When do you deliver?
We deliver 6 days a week (Monday - Saturday) between 10am and 5pm. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee a time slot within this window.
What happens if I'm not at home to receive my order?
All orders must be signed for on delivery. If there is nobody available to receive the delivery, we will endeavour to leave it with a neighbour and will post a card through your door.
When can cupcakes be collected?
Cupcakes can be collected from our shop Monday- Saturday 10am-5pm.
Our Cakes
Are your cupcakes suitable for vegetarians?
All products except those containing marshmallows are suitable for vegetarians. Our items are not suitable for vegans, those with gluten, wheat, dairy, nut or egg allergies.
Do you make birthday cakes?
We make 7" cakes for birthdays. We also produce cupcakes for christenings, baby showers, anniversaries, engagements or just because!
How long do the cupcakes last?
We recommend that they are eaten on the day, but if they are kept in an airtight container away from temperature extremes they will still be delicious up to 48 hours later.
Do you have all the flavours at all times?
We cannot guarantee that all items are in stock at all times, to ensure the maximum amount of choice it's best to get to the shop early. If you require something specific it's best to order in advance, either online or by phoning us on 01524 380421.
What kind of icing do you use?
Most of our cupcakes are topped with a butter based icing using a variety of flavours. Some cakes have a ganache or cream cheese icing – see individual product descriptions for more information.
Payments & Security
All card payments are handled through Sage Pay secure servers. As such your card details are passed directly to Sage Pay using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software. As such we NEVER store credit card details on our systems. We use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software to protect any other personal data we may hold about you.
Privacy
We will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent. We will not pass your e-mail address if you choose to join our subscription list. You will be allowed to unsubscribe at any time by emailing us.
What Personal Information About Customers Do We Gather?
The information we learn from customers helps us personalise and continually improve your shopping experience with Yummy Cupcake Company.

We receive and store information you enter on our Web site or give us in any other way. E-mail Communications:
To help us make e-mails more productive to improve service and your shopping experience, we sometimes send you newsletters of our services and products, notifications of changes to our policies, and order confirmations. If you do not want to receive e-mail from us, other than order notifications and receipts, please adjust your "Subscription" preferences by logging into your account.
What About Cookies?
Cookies are alphanumeric identifier text files that we transfer to your computers hard drive through your Web browser to enable our systems to recognize your browser and to provide features such as storage of items in your Shopping Basket between visits.
Does Yummy Cupcake Company Share the Information it Receives?
We respect your privacy and appreciate your business. At no time do we ever provide your account contact or payment information to any third party vendor, associate or service provider unless absolutely neccessary in order to complete your transaction and order.
How Secure is Information About Me?
We work to protect the security of your information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software, which encrypts information you provide to us for purchasing of our products or services. It is important for you to protect against unauthorised access to your password and to your computer. Be sure to sign off when finished using a shared computer by simply closing the shop window.
Which Information Can I Access?
Yummy Cupcake Company gives you access to a broad range of information about your account and your interactions with us for the limited purpose of viewing and, in certain cases, updating that information.

For security purposes Yummy Cupcake Company sometimes collects and analyses the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet, and to our website.
